PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe virus disinfectant.SOLUTION: A virus disinfectant contains chlorous acid water which inactivates at least one virus selected from poliovirus, influenza viruses, herpesvirus and feline calicivirus. The virus disinfectant containing chlorous acid water is usable as a food additive, a disinfectant, a quasi drug, a medicine and the like. The problem that sodium hypochlorite is not safe to the human body (high cytotoxicity) is solved. The virus disinfectant is safe to the human body and easy to handle as a pretreatment disinfectant and a virus disinfectant for food processing, generates chlorous acid reduced in emission of chlorine dioxide and is usable as a bactericidal agent and virus disinfectant.【課題】安全なウイルス殺傷剤を提供すること。【解決手段】ポリオウイルス、インフルエンザウイルス、ヘルペスウイルスおよびネコカリシウイルスからなる群より選択される少なくとも１種のウイルス等のウイルスを不活化する亜塩素酸水を含むウイルス殺傷剤が提供される。本発明の亜塩素酸水を含むウイルス殺傷剤は、食品添加物、消毒薬、医薬部外品、医薬品等として利用することができる。次亜塩素酸ナトリウムは人体に対して安全ではない(細胞傷害性が高い）という点が問題であったがこれが解決された。食品加工の前処理殺菌剤およびウイルス殺傷剤として人体に安全でかつ取扱い易く、しかも二酸化塩素の発生の少ない亜塩素酸を生成し、殺菌剤およびウイルス殺傷剤として使用する。【選択図】なし
