PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately detect a position and a region of an annular part of a fetus.SOLUTION: A position computing part 24 applies template matching to a tomographic image acquired by transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic wave to and from a fetus in a mothers body so as to compute a candidate for a position of an annular part (e.g., head part or belly part) of the fetus.
