PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assist handrail that hardly interferes with a movement such as rising and walking as compared with a conventional assist handrail.SOLUTION: An assist handrail 20 includes a base 30, a support part 40 erected on the base 30 and a grip part 50 attached to the support part 40. The grip part 50 includes two grip members (a first grip member 51 and a second grip member 52). Each of the two grip members (the first grip member 51 and the second grip member 52) is attached to the support part 40 at two places in the vertical direction of the support part 40, and is rotatably attached to the support part 40 with the support part 40 being a rotation axis.【課題】従来よりも、起き上がり及び歩行等の動作の妨げになりにくくなる補助手すりを提供する。【解決手段】補助手すり２０は、ベース３０と、ベース３０に立設される支柱部４０と、支柱部４０に取り付けられる把持部５０とを備える。把持部５０は、２個の把持部材（第１把持部材５１及び第２把持部材５２）を含む。２個の把持部材（第１把持部材５１及び第２把持部材５２）のそれぞれは、支柱部４０の上下方向における２箇所で支柱部４０に取り付けられ、かつ、支柱部４０を回転軸として回転可能に支柱部４０に取り付けられる。【選択図】図１
