The present invention relates to a composition for alleviating skin wrinkle and improving skin moisturization or elasticity containing tetradecane as an active ingredient. The composition containing tetradecane or salt thereof as an active ingredient of the present invention has effects of: i) increasing procollagen secretion, ii) reducing expression of a matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) gene, iii) increasing expression of collagen type I alpha 1 (ColIα1), ColIα2 or ColIα3, iv) increasing expression of an elastin gene, v) increasing an amount of hyaluronic acid, and the like, thereby being useful for alleviating skin wrinkles and improving moisturization or elasticity.본 발명은 테트라데칸을 유효성분으로 함유하는 피부주름 개선, 피부보습 개선 또는 탄력 증진용 조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 테트라데칸 또는 이의 염을 유효성분으로 함유하는 조성물은 ⅰ)프로콜라겐(procollagen) 분비량 증가, ⅱ) 기질금속단백질 분해효소(matrixmetalloproteinase, MMP) 유전자 발현 감소, ⅲ) ColⅠα1(collagen type Ⅰ alpha 1), ColⅠα2 또는 Col3α1 발현 증가, ⅳ) 엘라스틴(elastin) 유전자의 발현을 증가, 또는 ⅴ) 히알루론산 분비량 증가 등의 효과를 갖는 바, 피부주름 개선, 보습 개선 또는 탄력 증진용으로 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.
