Cocoa-containing instant beverage composition comprises: (a) isomaltulose with at least one sugar substitute and/or with at least one sugar different from sucrose; (b) cocoa, preferably cocoa powder, and (c) optionally at least one flavoring- and/or taste-makers, where the composition is at least substantially free of sucrose, and is present in the form of a granulate or agglomerate (preferred). An independent claim is also included for a non-cariogenic and/or reduced calorie cocoa-containing instant beverage obtainable by using an instant beverage composition.
