PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant imparted with resistance to various environmental stresses in a practically usable level within a range giving no influence to growth of the plant and a method for preparing the same. SOLUTION: The plant stably holds at least one species of polyamine synthetase gene selected from a group consisting of a gene coding for exogenous S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase (SAMDC), a gene coding for arginine decarboxylase (ADC) and a gene coding for ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) under control of an inducing promotor capable of being functional in the plant and is improved in resistance to at least one kind of stresses compared with a control plant of comparison having no exogenous polyamine synthetase gene.
