PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover for an open type magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, capable of closing the gantry opening of the MRI apparatus and reducing shock when a magnetic body collides.SOLUTION: The cover 1 for the open type magnetic resonance imaging apparatus is used for closing the gantry opening 120 of an open type MRI apparatus 100, and includes a shield plate 11 erected on the outer side of the gantry opening 120 and a buffer member 30 attached to the inner surface of the shield plate 11.
