To provide a system of a bone anchor and an elongate instrument.SOLUTION: A system includes a bone anchor (1) including a shank (2) having a first end (3), a second end (4) and a channel extending from the first end through the shank to the second end. The channel defines a channel axis. An internal advancement structure is provided on the inner wall of the channel at the second end or at a near position. The system includes an elongate instrument (20) configured to extend through the channel. The elongate instrument includes a tip portion (23) and an external advancement structure (25). The external advancement structure cooperates with the internal advancement structure of the shank so as to enable the advancement, in the channel, of the tip portion in a direction toward the second end and the retreat of the tip portion in the opposite direction toward the first end.
