The invention relates to a method, system and computer program product for providing preparatory information for preparing the magnetic resonance imaging of an examination target by a magnetic resonance apparatus. To perform the particularly advantageous preparation of the magnetic resonance imaging, the method for providing preparatory information for preparing the magnetic resonance imaging of an examination target by a magnetic resonance apparatus method according to the present invention is suggested. The method includes the steps of: supporting the examination target on a patient support device of the magnetic resonance device； obtaining a depth map of the examination target supported on the patient support device by a depth camera； constructing the preparatory information for preparing the magnetic resonance image by using the obtained depth map； and providing the preparatory information.
