PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic endoscope apparatus capable of switching between stereoscopic observation and planar observation by two optical paths.SOLUTION: Stereoscopic observation is possible when electronic images having binocular parallax of a left-and-right pair obtained from both of the two optical paths are displayed side by side on a display panel 16, and planar observation is possible when either of the electronic images is selected and only the selected electronic image is displayed side by side.
