A cutout section (40) is provided in the center of the belly side waist part (30) in the horizontal direction at the upper edge of the belly side waist part (30) in the vertical direction. A plurality of elastic members (33) are disposed on the belly side waist part (30) in the horizontal direction. The disposable diaper is provided with a first region (34) extending horizontally between the lower edge of the cutout section (40) and the upper edge of an absorbent core (121) in the vertical direction and a second region (35) extending horizontally disposed below the first region (34) in the vertical direction. Wrinkles form in the first region (34) and the second region (35) due to contraction of the elastic members (33). In an area that includes at least the location where the cutout section (40) is provided in the horizontal direction the number of wrinkles that form in the first region (34) is less than the number of wrinkles that form in the second region (35).
