The present invention relates to a skin whitening cosmetic composition and a food composition for whitening skin containing protein, which is extracted from a mesenchymal stroma cell and has the size of 5-1,000 kDa, as an active ingredient； a pharmaceutical composition containing protein, which is extracted from a mesenchymal stroma cell and has the size of 5-1,000 kDa, as an active ingredient for preventing or treating diseases resulted from hyperpigmentation； and a method for producing protein, which has skin whitening activity and is derived from a mesenchymal stroma cell. The method includes the steps of: extracting protein from a mesenchymal stroma cell； and obtaining the protein in the size of 5-1,000 kDa after sorting the extracted protein by size. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the protein, which is extracted from a mesenchymal stroma cell and has the size of 5-1,000 kDa, inhibits melanin in a melanin-producing cell at a high level. Therefore, the protein of the present invention can be applied for various skin whitening purposes.본 발명은 중간엽 기질세포로부터 추출된 5 kDa 내지 1,000 kDa의 크기를 갖는 단백질을 유효성분으로 함유하는 미백용 화장품 조성물 및 미백용 식품 조성물에 관한 것이다. 또한, 본 발명은 중간엽 기질세포로부터 추출된 5 kDa 내지 1,000 kDa의 크기를 갖는 단백질을 유효성분으로 함유하는 과다색소침착에 기인한 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 약제학적 조성물에 관한 것이다. 또한, 본 발명은 중간엽 기질세포로부터 단백질을 추출하는 단계 및 추출된 단백질을 크기별로 분리하여 5 kDa 내지 1,000 kDa의 크기를 갖는 단백질을 수득하는 단계를 포함하는, 미백 활성을 갖는 중간엽 기질세포 유래 단백질을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따라 중간엽 기질세포로부터 추출된 5 kDa 내지 1,000 kDa의 크기를 갖는 단백질은 멜라닌 생성 세포에서 멜라닌을 높은 수준으로 저해하여 다양한 미백 용도로 활용이 가능하다.
