PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curcuma dye composition which, even when a curcuma dye is added to a solvent to a high content, effectively prevents agglomeration and precipitation of the curcuma dye over time, achieves good color development, and enables deep and stable coloring with a nonconventional light tone, and a method for preparing the same.
SOLUTION: The curcuma dye composition is prepared by adding a curcuma dye to an aqueous solution containing ghatti gum and comminuting the curcuma dye in the solution until the average particle diameter is reduced to &le1 &mum.
