The present invention provides a sepsis treatment drug which is useful in preventing and treating sepsis. A prophylactic agent and/or therapeutic agent for sepsis, the agent containing as an active ingredient 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), a derivative thereof, or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, is prepared. Preferably, the ALA contains sodium ferrous citrate or another metal-containing compound. Appropriate examples of the ALA include: ALA methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl, pentyl, and other esters thereof hydrochlorides, phosphates, and sulfates thereof and the like.La présente invention concerne un médicament de traitement de la septicémie qui est utile pour prévenir et traiter la septicémie.
