PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience when using an image while saving a storage capacity of the image.SOLUTION: A medical image management system includes: a reception section (210) for receiving an image including incidental information; a storage control section (220) for storing the received image in a primary storage section (400); a compression section (230) for compressing the images stored in the primary storage section (400) and the secondary storage section (600) on the basis of a predetermined compression algorithm; a duplication section (240) for duplicating the image from the primary storage section (400) to the secondary storage section (600) on the basis of a predetermined duplication algorithm; a deletion section (250) for deleting the image from the primary storage section (400) or the secondary storage section (600) on the basis of a predetermined deletion algorithm; and a restoration section (260) for restoring the image on the basis of a predetermined restoration algorithm.
