The invention relates to the field of medicine, and specifically to medicinal agents for treating arthrological diseases. The present medicinal agent is based on a sodium salt of chondroitin sulfate, a mucopolysaccharide derived from animal tissue. The preparation affects metabolic processes in connective tissue, including in cartilage, stimulating and normalizing the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans. The essence consists in producing a freeze-dried medicinal agent based on an Na-salt of chondroitin sulfate (90-115% primary substance), with 1 ampule containing between 95 and 115 milligrams of freeze-dried material, which represents between 9.0 and 12.0% in terms of the primary substance. The result is a freeze-dried medicinal agent which meets the requirements applicable to preparations containing mucopolysaccharides and specifically chondroitin sulfate, and which is rendered safer by the absence of preservatives, particularly benzyl alcohol.
