The present disclosure relates to a fish farming tank for cultivating living fish, wherein the tank (1) comprises an active flow control system for generating a circulating flow of water within the tank (1). The tank (1) has an elongated stadium shape with an elongated partition (27) located centrally along a longitudinal direction (28) of the tank (1), as seen from above, such that a continuous tank channel (30) with first and second parallel longitudinal channel sections (31, 32) and first and second curved end sections (33, 34) is provided within the tank (1). The active flow control system has a first and a second water inlet arrangement (5a, 5b) for injecting water into the tank (1) and a first water outlet arrangement (6a) for removing water from the tank (1). The first water inlet arrangement (5a) is located at a first longitudinal end region (47) of the partition (27) and configured for injecting water into the first longitudinal channel section (31), and the second water inlet arrangement (5b) is located at a second longitudinal end region (48) of the partition (27) and configured for injecting water into the second longitudinal channel section (32). The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding method for generating a circulating flow of water in a fish farming tank for cultivating living fish.
