The present invention relates to a filtering structure of an aquarium, which is used without exchanging water for a long period of time, and to a filtering medium. As shown in reference numeral 5 in a representative drawing, mixed granules of four materials suggested in the present invention are introduced. The water of the aquarium flows through an inlet tube designated by reference numeral 7 passes through the filtering medium designated by reference numeral 5, a partition of which an upper end portion is perforated, designated by reference numeral 3, a filter designated by reference numeral 6, and an outlet tube designated by reference numeral 8 and then again flows into the aquarium.
