PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter system allowing reduction of a manual manipulation time because the insertion of a guide wire is easy.SOLUTION: A balloon catheter system 10 includes: a catheter body 16 having an elongated shaft 12 and a hub 14 a projection part 18 projecting outside the shaft 16 a balloon 22 provided in a tip side outer circumferential part of the shaft 12 and a protective sleeve 26 covering the outer surface of the balloon 18, and having a slit-like opening part 50 axially extending in an outer circumferential part thereof.
