PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aerosol for insect pest control, which can maintain controlling effects to mosquitoes for 12 hours, preferably for 14 hours or more in a treated space by improving sticking efficiency of an agent to, in particular, an indoor wall by using an aerosol with a quantitative spray function and performing a treatment of spraying a certain amount of the aerosol into an indoor space, and to provide an insect pest control method using the same.SOLUTION: An aerosol for insect pest control has an aerosol valve for quantitative spraying and is composed of an aerosol raw material solution containing (a) metofluthrin and/or transfluthrin as an insect pest control component and (b) a higher fatty acid ester as an organic solvent, and (c) a propellant, where an aerosol raw material solution/propellant ratio is 10-50/50-90 (volume ratio). A 90% particle diameter of sprayed particles of the aerosol in cumulative volume distribution is 10-80 μm, a jetting amount of the insect pest control c
