Annexure- III ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION: Refer Figure A INTRODUCTION : Use of flexible joints in an aircraft is inevitable due to the very nature of the movement of the actuating jacks or actuators. The flexible lines in the form of hoses or slide and swivel joints or swivel couplings interface between the rigid lines fixed to the structure and the moving jacks or actuators. FIELD OF INVENSION AND THE NEED FOR INVENSION : The earlier aircrafts which were designed and developed by ARDC had employed the British System for the hydraulic ports. The ports were suitable for the AGS fittings. The AGS fittings had several Standard fittings in the form of Banjo or swivel fittings. With the compulsions of using metric and ISO standards, ISO Standard ports was chosen to be the standard for the Hydraulic System ports in one of the aircraft during the late 80s. After gaining sufficient experience, the same was extended for the other projects. This type of ports has a number of advantages and the fitting system suitable for interfacing with this port is ISO or MA standards. A specific case was encountered in one of the variant aircraft, which required routing of the hydraulic lines for the hoses on the Landing Gear drag brace to strut where the geometrical movements are skewed in nature. The normal installation studies showed that hoses would twist during the operation of the Landing Gear. In order to overcome the above problem, Hydraulics Group of ARDC undertook the design of Swivel fittings suitable for the ISO7320 Standard ports. A Double Swivel Fitting was designed to take care of the movement and to avoid the twisting of the hoses. OBJECTIVE OF THIS INVENSION The main objective of this invention was to design and develop Double Swivel Fittings suitable for IS07169 Standard Metric tube connecting interface.
