PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antiviral agent preventing the infection of viruses without depending on its antigenic property, further not having harmful adverse effect on a human body and capable of being used stably.
SOLUTION: The antiviral agent is provided by including a green tea component as an active ingredient. Preferably, the green tea component is 1 kind or &ge2 kinds selected from the group consisting of ellagitannin, epigallocatechin gallate and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts.
