More particularly, the present disclosure provides advantageous modular patient transport systems that are configured to transport patients from one surface to another for various applications (e.g., diagnostic imaging and/or radiation therapy applications). The patient transport systems/assemblies of the present disclosure are configured and dimensioned to be utilized with a wide variety of imaging and/or treatment modalities/environments. The target modality assemblies/surfaces that the patient may be transported to and/or from via the improved patient transport systems/assemblies of the present disclosure include many different types of equipment/surfaces.
