The baler (10) comprising: a frame (14)； a feed system (22) coupled to the frame (14)； an auger housing (160) defining a volume (184) therein, wherein the volume (184) of the auger housing (160) is configured to receive crop material from the feed system (22) during operation； and one or more augers (164a, 164b) at least partially positioned within the volume (184) and rotatable with respect to the auger housing (160)； wherein the one or more augers (164a, 164b) define an auger inlet plane (185)； and a plurality of strippers (236) coupled to the auger housing (160) and configured to engage crop material, wherein each stripper (236) includes a leading edge (245), and wherein the leading edge (245) of at least one stripper (236) is positioned upstream of the auger inlet plane (185).
