Provided is a nanocellulose complex comprising metal oxide nanoparticles, a method of manufacturing the same, and a sunscreen containing the same. The nanocellulose composite includes cellulose nanofibers and first metal oxide nanoparticles attached to the surface of cellulose nanofibers, and the cellulose nanofibers are characterized by having at least partially exposed surfaces. According to the present invention, a nanocellulose complex containing inorganic nanoparticles and a water-soluble sunscreen using the same can be prepared.
