A self-setting biodegradable bioactive bone graft putty material and application thereof. The bone graft putty material comprises: a bioactive glass, a calcium sulfate hemihydrates, a tricalcium silicate, and a mixed solution. The bone graft putty material can replace the conventional inert bone cement applied in vertebroplasty surgery, knee/hip joint replacement surgery, and other bone fracture operations. This new bone cement material can set within an appropriate time to build mechanical strength gradually, enhanced bioactivity and osteoconductivity, with a slow biodegradability.
