An endoscopic system, apparatus and method for observing a dark area inside the body. The system includes an instrument of the endoscopic type, an image apparatus and a human apparatus interface. The endoscope includes a tip assembly which fits the natural orifices and is connected to a working sheath of varying elasticity which is joined to a intuitive and ergonomic gripping handle. The tip assembly includes a plurality of ports and an extension of the working channel for facilitating entry thereof, protecting the body tissues and protecting the optical image collector. The sheath assembly includes an active flexible segment which is connected to a passive flexible segment and the latter is in turn connected to a semi-rigid or rigid segment. An intuitive (instinctive perception) and ergonomic gripping handle is connected to the working sheath described, these operating moreover in an integral and coherent manner. The method for observing the dark area of the body cavity includes the steps and measures to be implemented in order to provide an instrument which has a segment of the working sheath with varying elasticity having an active flexible distal end and in order to gripping handle this segment at the desired angle of deflection.
