The present invention relates to a method for field installation of a plant mat, wherein the plant mat is directly fabricated in the field where the plant mat is used for bank protection greening construction or slope greening construction, thereby improving adaptability of plants and completing rooting and slope protection as soon as possible. The method comprises the steps of: installing a growing mat for providing elements necessary for the growth of plants； installing a slope protection mat to cover the growing mat； and planting the plants or sowing seeds on the growing mat to grow the plants to be cultivated through the slope protection mat. As such, the plant mat is directly manufactured in the field, thereby removing additional costs, and the plants are planted by digging the ground in the field, thereby significantly reducing a defective ratio and lowering installation costs.본 발명은 호안녹화공 또는 사면녹화공에 사용되는 현장에서 직접 제작하여 식물의 적응력을 높이고 빠른 활착 및 사면의 보호기능을 최대한 빠른 시기에 가능하도록 하는 식물 매트 현장 설치 방법에 관한 것으로, 식물의 생육에 필요한 요소를 제공하기 위한 생육 매트를 설치하는 단계, 상기 생육 매트를 덮도록 사면 보호용 매트를 설치하는 단계, 및 상기 사면 보호용 매트를 통하여 상기 생육 매트 상에 식물을 식재하거나 씨앗을 뿌려 상기 사면 보호용 매트를 통하여 자라도록 식물을 재배하는 단계를 포함한다. 따라서 현장에서 식물 매트를 직접 제작하기 때문에, 생산 과정 또는 운반 과정에서 발생하는 추가 비용을 없애고 현장 내에 지면을 파서 식물을 식재하기 때문에 하자율을 상당 부분 줄이고 설치 단가를 낮출 수 있다.
