PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a paddy field working machine by giving many functions to a variable-speed lever of a stepless variable-speed gear to ensure the other operations in association with its travel variable-speed operation to be lightly and swiftly made without shifting lever gripping.
SOLUTION: The paddy field working machine is constructed as follows: the variable-speed lever 11 and a speed control mechanism 25 are coordinatedly linked to each other so that the speed control mechanism 25 is operated to a higher-rotation side as the variable-speed lever 11 is operated from its neutral position N to a higher-speed position side in an advancing variable-speed operation path F the advancing variable-speed operation path F and a reversely advancing variable-speed operating path R are mutually connected in parallel to each other and are deviated in a different-level manner and a sub-advancing variable-speed operating path F which is transferrable by a straight-line moving operation to an advancing direction succeeding from the neutral position N(r) of the reversely advancing variable-speed operating path R is collocated on the lateral side of the lower-speed region portion of the advancing variable-speed operation path F.
