FIELD: measuring equipment.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spectroscopic measurements and concerns the method for determining heavy metals in the soil. In carrying out the method, the soil sample to be examined is applied with a layer 5–10 microns thick on the atomically smooth surface of the copper crystal, annealed at a temperature of 150 °C for 5 minutes and placed in a vacuum chamber with a residual gas pressure of 10millibar. Further, electron beam 3–4 mm in diameter with an energy of 3 keV is induced on the object of investigation and the quantity and quality of the chemical elements are determined from the Auger electron emission registered by the spectrometer.EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the accuracy of measurements and allowing to determine all elements from lithium to plutonium in one dimension without the use of reference samples or reference samples.1 cl
