PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic capable of imparting satisfactory slip and manageability to hair after being treated and dried without imparting an oily sensation thereto, and to provide a method for producing the hair cosmetic.SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic includes: a cationized hydroxypropyl cellulose (A) an oil solution (B) and a surfactant (C) wherein the cationized hydroxypropyl cellulose (A) has a main chain derived from an anhydroglucose, and also, the degree of substitution of cationized ethyleneoxy groups is 0.01 to 2.9 moles, the degree of substitution of propyleneoxy groups is 0.1 to 4.0 moles, and the oil solution (B) is one or more kinds of compounds selected from a specified ester compound, a specified dialkyl carbonate compound and a specified dialkyl ether compound.
