The present invention sets forth a portable therapeutic device which uses light to stimulate the optic nerve. By means of stimulating the eye(s) of a subject by using light-emitting diode (LED) light, the effects of Alzheimers disease treatment, improvement, and prevention are attained. The portable therapeutic device comprises: an eye mask which may be fixed to the face and which covers the eyes a light source which is fixed to the eye mask and a power source which provides energy to the light emitting light source.
