The present invention relates to a dispersion-type feedadditive composition for ruminants containing 40 % by weight ormore and less than 65% by weight of a basic amino acid whichis a biologically active substance and a method of producingthe same, and provides granules which have rumen bypassproperties, can release the biologically active substance ata high concentration in the small intestine of a ruminant animalto thereby promote the milk production of a lactating cow, andcan be shaped into an arbitrary form being hardly classifiedwhen added to a feed and a method of continuously producing theabove-described granules with a high efficiency. The inventionrelates to a feed additive composition for ruminants whichcontains at least one protective agent selected from ahydrogenated vegetable oil and a hydrogenated animal oil havinga melting point higher than 50°C and lower than 90°C, 0.05 to6% by weight of lecithin, water, and 40% by weight or more andless than 65% by weight of a basic amino acid, and a method ofproducing the feed additive composition for ruminants, themethod including solidifying a molten mixture, which includesat least one protective agent selected from a hydrogenatedvegetable oil and a hydrogenated animal oil having a meltingpoint higher than 50°C and lower than 90°C, lecithin, and abasicamino acid, by immersing the same in water.
