PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin inhibiting matrix metallo protease, and in more detail, to obtain treatment and prevention agent of wrinkle prevention, external preparation for skin for aging prevention, furthermore, synovial membrane of rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, arteriosclerosis, osteoarthritis, periodontal disease, ectopic angiopoiesis, neoplastic infiltration and transition, ulceration, skeletal disease, blood vessel reocclusion, vascular restenosis, HIV infection, or diabetic complication.SOLUTION: The protein of 13.6 kDa which exists in the ligament and the central part of a bivalve shell is found to inhibit matrix metallo protease 2, -9, -12, and -13 with a small quantity. And the ligament and the central part of a bivalve shell containing this, or extract thereof are found to solve the above problems.【課題】本発明の目的はマトリックスメタロプロテアーゼを阻害する皮膚外用剤に関する。さらに詳しく述べればシワ防止、老化防止用の皮膚外用剤、さらには慢性関節リウマチや変形性関節症の滑膜及び慢性関節リウマチ、動脈硬化、変形性関節症、歯周疾患、異所性脈管形成、腫瘍性浸潤および転移、潰瘍形成、骨疾患、血管再閉塞、血管再狭窄、ＨＩＶ感染症、または糖尿病合併症の治療および予防剤を得ることにある。【解決手段】二枚貝貝殻の靭帯および外套峡（中心部）に存在する１３．６kDaのタンパク質がマトリックスメタロプロテアーゼ－２、－９、－１２、－１３を少量で阻害することがわかり、これを含む二枚貝貝殻の靭帯および外套峡（中心部）或いはそれらの抽出物が上記の課題を解決することがわかった。【選択図】なし
