Disclosed is an antibacterial composition comprising zinc oxide as a main component so as to secure low harmfulness to human body, excellent antibacterial functions, while having antibacterial effects regardless of solar light. Moreover, disclosed is a functional film using the same. To this end, the antibacterial composition contains 95-99 wt% of a binder and 1-5 wt% of zinc oxide powder. In addition, the functional film includes a polymeric film coated with the antibacterial composition in the thickness of 0.1 to 100 μm. According to the present invention, it is possible to secure antibacterial functions on products having curved surfaces or portions hard to attach antibacterial sheets or films, by replacing antibacterial products based on synthetic chemicals such as silver nanomaterials whose harmfulness to human body has recently been reported.인체 유해성이 적고 항균효과가 우수하며 태양광 등에 무관하게 항균효과를 발생할 수 있도록 산화아연을 주성분으로 하는 항균 조성물 및 이를 적용한 기능성 필름이 개시된다. 이를 위하여 바인더 95 내지 99 중량%, 및 산화아연 분말 1 내지 5 중량%를 포함하는 항균 조성물을 포함하는 항균 조성물을 제공한다. 또한, 상기 항균 조성물이 0.1 내지 100 ㎛의 두께로 도포된 고분자 필름을 포함하는 기능성 필름을 제공한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 최근 인체 위해성이 제기되고 있는 은나노 물질 등의 합성 화학물질을 기반으로 하는 항균 제품을 대체하여 항균 시트지나 필름 등의 사용이 어려운 구석진 곳, 굴곡진 표면을 가지는 제품에 항균력을 부여할 수 있다.
