The present invention provides an ozone generator in which safety is enhanced by reducing the risk of erroneous operation. This ozone generator is provided with: a light source body which is disposed in a space where a gas can be circulated, and which is capable of generating ozone through irradiation of ultraviolet rays a reception unit which receives an electric wave signal a storage unit which stores therein information including first identification information corresponding to identification information of a first specific operation terminal that is the only operation terminal given a first authority permitting operation of the light source body and a control unit which performs action control on the light source body. The control unit performs, with respect to the light source body, action control based on action instruction information included in the electric wave signal, only in the case when the identification information included in the electric wave signal received by the reception unit matches the first identification information stored in the storage unit.
