PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support and protect a functional element provided on a contact lens surface through the design of a protective layer having a predetermined composition. SOLUTION: The contact lens L has an element protection function including a translucent main body 1, a functional element 2, and a protective layer 3, and the functional element 2 is provided on the translucent main body 1 to protect the contact lens L. The layer 3 is provided on the translucent main body 1 and covers the functional element 2. The functional element 2 is covered with a translucent main body 1 and a protective layer 3 and isolated from the outside, and the protective layer 3 includes a film-forming polymer, a hydrophilic polymer, and a solvent.
