PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire further stable analysis results of navigator data in a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging apparatus executes a navigator sequence so as to acquire first navigation data by a first echo time where a phase difference corresponding to the location of a prescribed tissue, for example, the diaphragm, in a phase profile indicating a relationship between the phase of the navigator data and the location in a navigator region is relatively enlarged, and second navigator data by a second echo time where the phase difference is relatively lessened; generates a phase difference profile PPS indicating a difference between the phase profile PP1 of the first navigator data and the phase profile PP2 of the second navigator data; and detects the location of the prescribed tissue based on the phase difference profile PPS.
