<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrio cholera toxin production inhibitor including a spice extract as an active ingredient, to provide a method for inhibiting the production of vibrio cholera toxin； besides, to provide a medicament for treating and/or preventing cholera, containing such a spice extract as active ingredient, and to provide methods (each) for treating and/or preventing cholera. <；P>；SOLUTION: Studies have been conducted based on believing that spice used willingly in tropical nations contain a substance having curative and preventive effects on vibrio cholera also as an endemic in such tropical nations originally. As a result, it has been found that alcohol extracts of some kinds of such spice have the effects of inhibiting the toxin production by toxin-producing bacteria including vibrio cholera. Further, it has been found that medicinal ingredients including capsaicin, piperine, trans-anethole and 4-allyl anethole, derived from such kinds of spice, have the effects of inhibiting the toxin production by toxin-producing bacteria including vibrio cholera as well. <；P>；COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
