PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing efficiently a porous functional material which has a limonite-like function and is usable in removal of pollutants, or the like.SOLUTION: A method of producing a porous functional material comprises forming a porous support carrying a limonite ingredient by bringing a limonite solution into contact with a porous support and drying and baking the porous support having been brought into contact with the limonite solution. A porous functional material obtained by the production method and a method of removing pollutants by using the porous functional material are also provided.【課題】環境汚染物質の除去等に用いることができるリモナイト様の機能を有する多孔質機能材料を効率よく製造する方法を提供する。【解決手段】リモナイト溶液を多孔質担体に接触させ、当該リモナイト溶液に接触させた多孔質担体を乾燥・焼成させることで得られることを特徴とする、多孔質担体にリモナイト成分を担持させた多孔質機能材料の製造方法ならびに、該製造方法により得られる多孔質機能材料。また、該多孔質機能材料を用いて環境汚染物質を除去する方法。【選択図】 図３
