PURPOSE: A composition and health food using a small amount of Gyungokgo is provided to relieve itchness, inflammation, and skin edema and to treat or prevent atopic dermatitis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating atopic dermatitis contains 0.0001-1000 mg/kg of Gyungokgo as an active ingredient. Gyungokgo contains Rehmanniae Radix crudus, Wolfiporia cocos, ginseng, and honey. A cosmetic composition and health food are used for treating atopic dermatitis.본 발명은 경옥고를 유효성분으로 함유하는 아토피 피부염 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 경옥고는 아토피 피부염 동물 모델인 NC/Nga 마우스에서 T 림프구의 활성을 억제하고, 아토피로 인한 가려움증 등의 피부질환, 부종, 혈청 IgE 및 비만 세포수를 감소시켜 적은 양으로도 아토피 피부염증을 완화시킬 수 있다는 사실을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 발명에 따른 경옥고는 아토피 질환의 예방과 치료용 조성물 및 건강기능식품으로 유용하게 이용할 수 있음을 제시한다.
