Provided is a plant transformation method mediated by an Agrobacterium strain, said method being characterized by comprising a step for, under the application of a plant growth inhibiting hormone, inoculating a plant with the Agrobacterium strain that has a foreign gene-containing vector and thus infecting the plant with the strain. Also provided is a plant transformation method mediated by an Agrobacterium strain, said method being characterized by comprising a step for transforming a plant using the Agrobacterium strain that carries a vector containing a foreign gene but having no selection marker gene in the T-DNA region.
