The present invention relates to a tray for pot plants and method for manufacturing such tray. The tray according to the invention comprises: - a carrier part provided With a number of pot plant receiving compartments, Wherein the carrier part is made from a moulded pulp； - a number of clamping elements for clamping the pot plants in one of the pot plant receiving compartments, Wherein the clamping elements are configured to receive and clamp pots of different sizes in a plant receiving compartment. Preferably, the tray comprises: — at least one drain opening for removing an excess of water from the tray； and at least one drain element for transport of the excess of water to the at least one drain opening.
