The white cane has been the preferred tool for collision avoidance for the visually impaired. While ittempts have been made for an alternate system for collision avoidance, the simplicity of a cane has lot been retained. As such, the next possible solution is to upgrade the cane itself with modern echnology while remaining low cost and user friendly. No white cane with all the features nentioned earlier exists. Attempts have been made to address few of the issues but a comprehensive iolution has not evolved yet.
