PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulating cover which is easy to attach before surgery and easy to remove after surgery, is not likely to come off during surgery or not likely to be caught in a trocar when a shaft is pulled out of the trocar, and to provide a surgical treatment instrument including it.SOLUTION: In a manipulator 1 (a surgical treatment instrument), the insulating cover 10 is mounted on the distal end of a shaft of a manipulator body 11. The insulating cover 10 includes: a cover body 102 and a base end member 104 connected to the base end of the cover body 102. The inner peripheral part of the base end member 104 is provided with a female screw part 120 to be screwed to a male screw part 27 provided on the distal end of the surgical treatment instrument.
