A method for sterilizing an antiseptic solution includes providing a container containing the antiseptic solution, the antiseptic solution having an initial purity, selecting a sterilization temperature from about 85C to about 135C and an sterilization time from about 1 minute to about 19 hours, heating the antiseptic solution to the selected sterilization temperature, maintaining the temperature for the selected sterilization time, and terminating the heating of the antiseptic solution when the sterilization time expires. After terminating the heating, the antiseptic solution has a post-sterilization purity. The sterilization temperature and the sterilization time are selected such that after terminating the heating, the antiseptic solution is sterile and has a post-sterilization purity of at least about 92% and the percentage point change in purity from the initial purity to the post-sterilization purity is at most about 5%.La présente invention concerne un procédé de stérilisation dune solution antiseptique qui comprend la fourniture dun récipient contenant la solution antiseptique, la solution antiseptique ayant une pureté initiale, la sélection dune température de stérilisation denviron 85 °C à environ 135 °C et un temps de stérilisation denviron 1 minute à environ 19 heures, le chauffage de la solution antiseptique à la température de stérilisation sélectionnée, le maintien de la température pendant le temps de stérilisation sélectionné, et larrêt du chauffage de la solution antiseptique lorsque le temps de stérilisation sest écoulé. Après larrêt du chauffage, la solution antiseptique a une pureté post-stérilisation. La température de stérilisation et le temps de stérilisation sont choisis de sorte quaprès larrêt du chauffage, la solution antiseptique est stérile et a une pureté post-stérilisation dau moins environ 92 % et le changement de pureté en pourcentage entre la pureté initiale et la pureté post-stérilisation est dau plus environ 5 %.
