A moulding unit comprises a chamber supplied with pasta-filata and having outlets A mould has two rows of channels opening on a first surface of the mould facing downwards and arranged adjacent to the outlets. Driving elements drive the mould with reciprocating motion between a first position and a second position. A consolidation tub is arranged below the moulding unit. A first chute and a second chute are arranged between the moulding unit and the consolidation tub. Each chute has an inlet end substantially parallel to the plane defined by the axes of the channels, and an outlet end slanting with respect to the horizontal plane by a delivery angle in the range 0° to 45°.
