A fish catching arrangement comprising:- a fish trap (2) with a framework (3);- leading nets (30) extending along the sea bottom (26) for guiding fishes towards the fish trap; and- anchoring devices (35) for keeping the leading nets stretched out in a horizontal direction and thereby keep the fish trap in place horizontally. The fish trap has such a buoyancy that it is capable of floating fully immersed in the water with the framework at a distance from the sea bottom when the fish trap is positioned in its intended use position. Sinker elements are fixed to the leading nets and to lower net sections of the fish trap in order to keep them in contact with the sea bottom when the fish trap is positioned in its intended use position and thereby prevent the fish trap from rising to the water surface under the effect of its buoyancy.
