PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary protective member that, after fracture, does not remain on a needle cap side and a wing side and generates no fracture waste when the needle cap is opened, and a winged medical needle including the protective member mounted thereon.SOLUTION: A substantially bag-shaped body 12 includes a front-side body 12F and a back-side body 12B. The front-side body 12F includes a front-side opening part (12HF), and the back-side body 12B has a back-side opening part 12HB. The body 12 has an opening part 12OP in a direction of a proximal end PE.
