A cushion (10) for a patient interface that delivers breathable gas to a patient, the cushion defining part of a cavity which receives at least part of the nose and / or mouth of the patient. The cushion includes a base wall, a membrane (32) adapted to form a seal on the patient’s face and a support structure (30) that extends from an inner surface of the cushion into the cavity. The cushion includes a nasal bridge region, a pair of side of nose regions, a pair of upper cheek regions, a pair of lower cheek regions, and a chin region. The support provides support to the pair of side of nose regions of the cushion, the support structure being absent in the chin region of the cushion. At least a portion of the membrane is thinner than at least a portion of the support structure. At least a portion of the membrane in the pair of lower cheek regions is thicker than at least a portion of the membrane in the nasal bridge region.
